After the shutdown of Megaupload, and the subsequent scuttling of other file-share sites wary of the same fate, me and my friends joked there would be a new breed of file sharing. Harkening back to the days of when piracy meant copying a friend's floppy disc, these pirates would take to the vast network of real life, regularly meeting with external hard drive in hand to exchange precious nuggets of data.
