So Pokemon X and Y are out and it's pretty much my life now. Good bye outsideworld, I have bulbasaurs to pet and badges to earn.
There's something about Pokemon games -- little touches from Gamefreak that are really awesome. X has been no exception. I spent 15 minutes reading transcripts from fake TV shows. Is there really depth of field in a Nintendo 3DS game? I can register four items at once now?! Not to mention a lack of indidivudal friend codes means the game tells me when my friends are playing. I can ask them to battle or trade at any time.
I didn't think it would make a big difference, but the 3D visuals and moving camera do a lot for the game; it feels like a living, breathing world. It's a real breath of fresh air for a franchise that can sometimes be a little same-y to the casual player.
Also, there are so many pokemon in every route from every generation. I don't think it's possible for me to "catch 'em all" at this point.
