I have another design up for voting on Threadless. Do you like Unicorns? How about cowboys? How about poo-based humor? This shirt has all three! Head on over to Threadless and give it a vote.
And the last horse crosses the finish line. I wasn't going to do another Star Wars joke this week. Just about everything that can be said about Lucas's latest tinkering in the original trilogy has already been said. It would be in poor taste to discuss the reaction at this point; the internet has already reacted. It's depressing to know that the same George Lucas who once stood before congress and gave a moving speech on film alteration and the preservation of cinematic history can do such a poor job at preserving one of cinematic history's most influential films. Lucas genuinely believes his films will never be done, that they must continually be updated technology. And he has the right to, even if I disagree with that mode of thought. Star Wars is his creation and he holds all the rights to it.
But the fans are what made that creation valuable. The fans allow him to afford these changes. Without fans, Star Wars would have no monetary value. So I would think throwing them a bone an dreleasing the theatrical cut wouldn't be a big deal. Plus, it'd be a chance to sell even more merchandise. Why are we so excited about deleted scenes if Lucas can't release an uncut, unaltered version of the movie?
Anyway, I would be doing the internet a moral injustice by running a comic called Nerd Rage and not commenting on this subject.
The great people at Cornell broke ground in the world of chatting robots: they made Cleverbot talk to itself. The only thing that would make this video better is if the two personalities were played by tachikoma.
Dead Island released this week; the game that charmed the internet with a non-linear sequence about a dying girl while showing absolutely no gameplay. If you tried to play it on Steam, you'll know you got the wrong version of the game. And now angry reviewers will hold unused content against the game.
The first shots of the circle-pad add-on for the 3DS were released via Famitsu. It looks as tacked on as...well...a tacked on control device can look. There are very few ways to disguise it. News sources have chosen to focus on this part of the announcement, rather than the fact Monster Hunter Tri G is coming to the 3DS. And Monster Hunter prints money.
